Thermae Sauna
Hot. Cold. Lake. Repeat.

COMING SOON TO FRANKTON MARINA

A floating sauna on Lake Wakatipu. Designed to move with the water, not against it.

Three saunas. A steam room. Direct cold immersion into the alpine waters of Lake Wakatipu. Thermae is a contrast therapy experience designed around a simple circuit — get hot, get cold, rest, repeat.

Private sauna for up to six. Two communal saunas seating ten and four. The private sauna includes its own cold plunge. Communal guests step straight into the lake.

Not a spa. A ritual.

Architecture that belongs on Lake Whakatipu…

Thermae's curved form echoes The Remarkables. Framed apertures draw the mountains in. Every material and sightline has been considered, not just to impress, but to immerse.

The structure is being built off-site and floated into position at Queenstown Marina.

Environment-led design. The same approach behind Bathe where the space serves the guest and the landscape. Never the other way around.

What the hot-cold cycle does:

Heat and cold stimulate blood flow, reduce inflammation, and support muscle recovery.

1

Circulation & Recovery

The contrast cycle calms stress and brings the body back into balance.

2

Nervous System Reset

Cold immersion triggers endorphins. Guests leave lighter and clearer.

3

Mental Clarity

One of the most effective natural supports for deep, restorative rest.

4

Better Sleep

Located at Queenstown Marina, on the water.

Floating on Lake Wakatipu with views to The Remarkables, Cecil Peak, and Walter Peak. A short drive from central Queenstown. A world away from everything.

Simply can’t wait?

Bathe by Aluume is open now. Hot pools, cold showers, magnesium-enriched water. Right in the heart of Queenstown.
